How a resin repair works
The damaged spot is cleaned and the air drawn out of the break. Clear resin is injected under pressure so it fills every fine crack, then cured with ultraviolet light and polished flush with the glass. The repair restores strength and stops the damage spreading, and the mark becomes hard to see.

Questions about windscreen repairs
How soon should a chip be repaired?
As soon as you can. Heat, cold, speed bumps and even slamming a door can turn a chip into a long crack, and a crack is a replacement rather than a repair.
Will the chip disappear completely?
A good repair restores the strength and stops the spread. Most of the mark fades, though a small blemish can remain depending on the break.
